Chris Brown joins the ever-growing list of artists to cover Drake’s new song, ‘Marvin’s Room’. Placing the emotional sentiments of the original on pause, Brown and his favourite collaborator, Kevin McCall, bring sexual energy to the record.
Listen to the track below:
Although many people may not enjoy the fact that Brown changed this into a sex song, I must admit that his version is actually refreshing. With the exception of his usual studio vocal effects, I actually enjoyed the record and its departure from the now cliche heartbreak angle.
Still, Brown is walking a fine line at this moment in his career and has to ensure that every track does not revolve around sex. I’m happy that he wasn’t singing from the pages of Drake’s tear-covered diary like every artist that has remixed this track but we don’t never another Trey Songz.
