You’ve heard of Flashback Friday but now it’s time to introduce Way Back Wednesday! This new feature will take you back in time to some of the greatest eras in music history, helping you to reconnect with some of your favourite songs.
See this week’s selection below:
Britney Spears scored a massive worldwide hit with ‘Me Against The Music (Ft. Madonna)’ in 2003. Released as the lead single from her ‘In The Zone’ album, the song peaked in the top 10 in several territories including the UK, Europe and Australia.
However, what was probably most memorable about this record was its accompanying choreography which, despite the Madonna feature, was strikingly similar to the complex routines of Janet Jackson. Furthermore, unlike her sluggish hair-tossing of today, Spears was able to execute it effortlessly live as seen in this performance on ABC’s ‘In The Zone’ special.
It’s amazing to see exactly how far Spears has fallen. Where she once thrilled audiences so much with her moves that her blatant lip-syncing was overlooked, she now relies on her assistants to help her descend a flight of stairs.
Meanwhile, Madonna is still doing splits and flips across stages at the age of 52. Mental issues or not, Spears needs to step up or step out.
