Beyonce Excited For ‘A Star Is Born’ Role

Beyonce is preparing to tackle one of the most important roles in her career. The singer will play the lead in a Clint Eastwood-directed remake of ‘A Star Is Born’, following in the footsteps of Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland.

Eastwood will helm the fourth remake of the story about rising singer and actress Esther Blodgett, and Beyonce fondly remembers being a young girl and watching previous versions of the movie with her mother.

“It’s when I became a fan of Barbra Streisand’s. And I then saw Judy Garland’s version of ‘A Star Is Born’ and I realized every 20 to 30 years a new star is born and a new talent represents that generation and era — so I didn’t think that I would ever get the opportunity to be the star,” she said.

“I met with Clint and I was so nervous and I know that it is the biggest opportunity of my life. I will work as hard as I can,” she said. “Because I can’t wait. And I am so happy that he trusts me and I am in good hands and I am so fortunate.”

I just hope that Beyonce has been working with an acting coach. The last thing we need is another ‘Obsessed’, ‘Austin Powers’ or ‘Dreamgirls’.

  Has anyone seen Beyonce in Cadillac Records? She was phenomenal.. That was her last movie and it showed growth. Stop being so impartial. At the end of the day shes a better actor than your beloved Mariah who consistently tries to act.

  By not having faith in Bey, you’re also not having faith in Clint Eastwood. He’s a filmmaker who is famous for getting the best out of his actors. If Bey delivers a good performance, it will be because of him.

  Most of Clint’s movies always end of in Oscars nominations. He’s a very prestigious director so she has some very big boots to fill. I hope se approaches acting like she approaches her music. I remember before her 1st Solo project she had a vocal coach who traveled with her everywhere. I could tell she wanted to be the BEST. I hope she does that with acting. Cadilla Records was an improvement, but as in from HORRIBLE to just BAD.

  You ppl ALWAYS trynna call the QUEEN Mariah washed up and irrelevant but you are always the ones bringing her name up, Lol funny huh?
  But anyways the task at hand,I am NOT here for her acting the only good film i’ve seen her in was “Cadillac Records”, but her acting still wasn’t good, it just wasn’t as horrible as usual. Hopefully Clint will work his magic.

  Oh boy, she’s already campaiging for that elusive Oscar. Just because clint is the director doesn’t mean she will be nominated. The actors that he worked with who were nominated were stellar actresses. Beyonce’s diction is horrible with that houston drawl. This movie will draw alot of comparisons to the previous 3 all which had legendary actresses. Those are big boots to fill.
  
  Obssessed was cringeworthy to watch and Anika Noni Rose and Jennifer Hudson stole the ‘spotlight’ from her in Dreamgirls. I’m not here for this.

  The Barbara Streisand version sucked. Just because she was in it doesn’t mean it was great. Who’s to say a different group of people can’t do better? It will most likely pale in comparison to the Judy Garland version though.
