Adele’s ’21′ has now spent 19 non-consecutive weeks at #1 on the United World Album Chart, selling more than 8.2 million copies in only 26 weeks of release. With another 222k sold, the LP notches the top spot again this week, cementing its position as the year’s best seller.
On the other hand, while Lady GaGa’s ‘Born This Way’ sits comfortably at #2 with 133k another units sold, it is the singer’s ‘The Fame’ debut album that has set a new standard. The record has now cracked the 13 million mark with another 31k sold and 132 weeks on the tally.
