Adele’s global domination continues to thunder onward as her ’21′ album has returned to the #1 spot for an incredible 18th week. The singer easily surpassed her nearest competitors, Beyonce and Lady GaGa, despite releasing her LP weeks before them.
’21′ sold 217k copies this week, raising its total sales to over 7.94 million in only 4.5 months. Beyonce’s ’4′ remains in the #2 position with another 165k units sold for a new total of 908k to date while Lady GaGa’s ‘Born This Way’ notches the #3 spot with 152k (total: 3.68 million).
On the United World Track Chart, LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock Anthem (Ft. Lauren Bennett & Goon Rock)’ remains at #1 for a 3rd week with another 349k sold. The song outpaces former chart leader Pitbull’s ‘Give Me Everything (Ft. Ne-You, Afrojack & Nayer)’ which stays at #2 with 342k.
