I honestly believe that Jill Scott spoke the truth. Everyone knew deep down in the darkest parts of their minds Amy Winehouse was gonna kick the bucket sooner or later. I, too, wasn’t surprised, especially since she performed a drunken ramble earlier this year somewhere overseas. People have a right to their opinion, it’s only when they become outspoken and blunt, do we the public shade them. Unless they’re rambling like Kanye and other people…I respect what Queen Jill has to say about this.

Her words were definitely not misinterpreted or taken out of context, they were true. Last year, Amy’s mother even said that she saw the death of her daughter as inevitable. I mourn for the loss of great music–great harmonies & melodies, Spector’s “wall of sound” production style, and a soulful, heartfelt voice. The authorities have not even insinuated that it was an OD and told the public not to rush to conclusions. People made similar speculations when Brittany Murphy died and it was determined that she died from pneumonia., When Heath Ledger actually died from an overdose, few tasteless jokes & condemnations were made and he received a posthumous Oscar. To those who are joking, judging, & preaching, I hope that you can retain your record of perfection and free of ANY vices until the day that you die lest you be remembered for your sins.

Amy herself stated in 2008, that she believed she would die young. It’s sad.

I think Jill Scot couldn’t have worded things better. Amy didn’t pass from an overdose it was high alcohol levels in her system. She was getting clean sadly she still hung to another addiction that was drinking too much.
