Adele has proven to be the breakthrough artist of 2011 but another female top-seller has returned for her crown. Amy Winehouse ‘Back To Black’ has been resurrected to claim the top spot on the UK Albums Chart, nabbing a 164th week on the ally.
‘Back’ leaps a stunning 58 spots on the lineup from #59 to #1. This jump was expected following the shocking death of the singer on July 23rd. Winehouse’s ‘Frank’ album also re-enters the lineup at #5, a new peak following its previous crowning at #13 in 2005.
On the other hand, Adele’s ’21′ dips to #2, closely followed by her debut album, ’19′, at #4. Sandwiched between these release is Beyonce’s ’4′ at #3, down only 1 spot from last week.
The Official UK Singles Chart also included some interesting moves. JLS’ ‘She Makes Me Wanna (Ft. Dev)’ is now the group’s fifth #1 single from 7 releases since their 2009 debut.
