It has been a while since we heard new material from Alexandra Burke but she is finally ready to embark on the next stage of her blossoming career. The ‘X Factor (UK)’ winner has announced that the first single from her long awaited sophomore album will be released in September.

The song will be sent to radio on September 5th. Burke revealed to Manchester News that the track, which is about an animal, was only recently recorded and is being mixed this week.

It’s delightful to see how excited Burke feels about her music and career. She is an exceptional singer and performer with great potential to eventually rival many of her peers, including her idol, Beyonce.

Nonetheless, I hope that this new era features Burke developing into her own artist, bolstered by stronger material than the tripe that was ‘Start Without You’. She is far too talented to be making basic singalong playground anthems that could easily be covered by any 5-year old with a jump rope.
