Just one more week and Adele will be 21 for ’21′! The Pop/Soul singer’s album has now spent 20 weeks at #1 on the United World Chart, extending her lead as 2011′s best-selling artist.
’21′ sold over 212k in the last 7 days, bringing its grand told to 8.65 million copies in just 7 months. One spot behind Adele is her British counterpart Amy Winehouse whose ‘Back To Black’ moved 165k copies, representing an 8% sales dip compared to the previous sales period, while Lady GaGa’s ‘Born This Way’ finally passed the 4 million mark by selling 106k at #4.
Unsurprisingly, Kelly Rowland’s ‘Here I Am’ experienced one of the larget sales decreases of the week. The record fell an astounding 23 spots to #30 after selling only 27k units, proving that her name certainly isn’t strong enough to sell albums on its own.
