JoJo may have just jinxed her ‘Jumping Trains’ album before anybody got the chance to hear it. The singer, who joined Interscope Records following a bitter legal battle with her former label, Da Family Entertainment, has revealed that the first single from the project is called ‘Disaster’ but she has no idea when it will be released.
JoJo broke the news via Twitter yesterday that ‘Disaster’ is indeed “coming soon”. However, she does not know when the track will hit the airwaves because the her team is still trying to figure it out.
Although it is good to finally see JoJo making strides toward reviving her career, I am admittedly concerned that this might be yet another false start for her ‘Jumping Trains’ project. Following several delays, legal issues and her randomly released ‘Can’t Take That Away From Me’ mixtape, the buzz for the album has almost completely faded.
Simply, if JoJo wants to rebuild her fans’ confidence in her as a viable artist then she needs to provide solid information at every opportunity instead of just a “coming soon”. Indeed, if her album doesn’t hit stores soon then her career won’t be ‘jumping trains’; rather it will be laying on the tracks while being crushed by them.
