Keyshia Cole was disappointed with the performance of her ‘Calling All Hearts’ album, which debuted at a lowly #9 on the Billboard 200 in December and became her lowest-selling LP to date. However, with the support of a new management team, the R&B singer is ready to try again in early 2012.
Cole, who has not debuted new material since her appearance on DJ Khaled’s ‘Legendary (Ft. Chris Brown & Ne-Yo)’, has announced that she will release her next studio album in February. The development of the project will be chronicled on her upcoming reality show, ‘Family First’.

February is an ideal time for Cole to release her album. Although the first quarter is notorious for being the slowest sales period of the year, she will effectively avoid direct competition from the gang of R&B singers who are planning to issue new records in spring and summer, such as Brandy and Mariah Carey.
Hopefully, Cole will find a way to rebrand herself and try something new. Her ‘Calling All Hearts’ album was just a lazy rehash of her previous material and lacked the energy and passion that helped to make her one of the most consistent R&B artists of the last decade.
