Adele denied Rihanna the opportunity of landing her 11th #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 this week but nobody could prevent the Pop star from conquering the United World Track Chart. Indeed, Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ has ended the 8-week reign of Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera’s ‘Moves Like Jagger’ to become her 9th #1 song on the tally.
‘We Found Love’ sold an impressive 420K this week after exhibiting a 23% in sales. With this most recent success, Rihanna has achieved 9 chart-topping singles on the United World Track Chart and is now tied with Britney Spears and George Michael in 5th place among artists with the most #1 songs.
However, Rihanna is still far from matching Madonna’s record on the global chart. The Queen of Pop, who will be releasing hew new single, ‘Give Me All Your Love (Ft. Nicki Minaj & M.I.A.)’ on February 5th 2012, has logged 19 #1 songs on the lineup – more than any other act in history.
