Jill Scott is known for telling a story through her music and her latest single, ‘So Gone (What My Mind Says)’, is no different. Joined by the newly slim Paul Wall, the songstress voiced the struggles of a poetic character who has been “d*ckmatized” by a “diamond chip d*ck” and became addicted to sex.
Scott’s ‘Light of the Sun’ LP debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 in June and became her first chart-topping release on the tally. She will appear alongside Mary J. Blige, Jessie J, Jennifer Hudson and others at ‘Vh1 Divas Celebrates Soul’ on December 19th at 9pm ET.

Usually, this type of overtly sexual music would seem trashy and a sign of desperation but hearing it delivered by Scott in the context of this video makes it appear in a completely different light. Perhaps, she was simply addressing a struggle that affects millions of men and women in the world today. Indeed, d*ckmatization is a leading cause of death in our community. Hopefully, Scott will host a telethon for this cause.
