Simon Cowell has proven that even a media tycoon as influential as he is in the industry knows how to apologise. Alongside his fellow ‘The X Factor (US)’ judge LA Reid, the mogul sat down with ‘Extra’ to discuss his show and shared details about a rather awkward meeting with Beyonce.

Reports surfaced last week that Cowell had called Beyonce as well as Lady Gaga and Katy Perry “boring” but he swiftly issued a statement where he denied those claims. However, Cowell revealed that earlier in his career he did indeed make derisive comment about Beyonce, which eventually led to a very uncomfortable situation.
