Adele’s domination of the UK Albums Chart has entered the 4th quarter of 2011. After remaining in the top 5 of the tally for an astounding 36 weeks, the record has continued to exemplify consistent sales.
However, Adele wasn’t the only act demonstrating amazing performance on the charts. The top-selling track in the world, Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera’s ‘Moves Like Jagger’, has also maintained a position near the summit of the Official UK Singles Chart.
Adele’s ’21′ has not spent 36 weeks in the top 5 of the UK Albums Chart. Ranking as the top-selling album of the year, the LP’s success in her home country is even more impressive than the record-breaking 31-week run in the top 5 of the US Billboard 200.
On the Official UK Singles Chart, ‘Moves Like Jagger’ remained at #2 in its 7th week on the lineup. The song’s performance has been more consistent than several other tracks in recent weeks, particularly Leona Lewis’ ill-fated ‘Collide’, which continued a rapid descent after falling from #18 to #27 after the last 7 days.
