Katy Perry is reaping the benefits from her performance of ‘The One That Got Away’ on ‘The X Factor (UK)’ last week as both the song and her ‘Teenage Dream’ album have surged on the UK charts. However, her close friend and chart rival, Rihanna, also enjoyed growth on the UK Albums Chart as ‘Loud’ has reentered the top 15.

‘The One That Got Away’ has entered the Official UK Singles Chart at #22 and has become Perry’s 11th top 40 hit on the tally. The singer’s other 5 releases from ‘Teenage Dream’ all climbed to the top 10 of the lineup with ‘California Gurls’ being the only #1 single from the project thus far.

Furthermore, Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ has rebounded 19 spots from #27 to #8 on the UK Albums Chart. The LP debuted at #1 on the survey in August 2010 with 54K copies sold and has been certified double platinum. ‘Teenage Dream’ also achieved double platinum status in the US this week and has sold over 1.83 million copies in that territory to date.

Meanwhile, Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ continued to rule the Official UK Singles Chart but it was her ‘Loud’ album that made news this week. The record had an inexplicable ascension of 17 spots from #29 to #12. The resurgence was probably an implication of the widespread media coverage of the controversial ‘We Found Love’ video.
