Rihanna’s dominance of the Official UK Singles Chart has continued as ‘We Found Love’ clocked the #1 spot on the tally for a 2nd consecutive week. Yet, her fellow auto-tune enthusiast, Jason Derulo, had the surprising story of the week as he found both love and hope on the the UK Albums Chart with his ‘Future History’ LP which debuted in the top 10.
‘Future History’, entered the Albums Chart at #7 this week and exceeded all expectations. The record notoriously missed the top 10 of the US Billboard 200 earlier this month when it debuted at #29 with a paltry 13K copies sold. Meanwhile, his more recent single from the project, ‘It Girl’, landed at #13 on this Singles Chart.
Simultaneously, Rihanna maintained her lead with ‘We Found Love’ for a 2nd week. The song roared onto the lineup last week at #1 and made her the only female artist to notch 6 #1 tracks during a 5-year period. Rihanna filmed the track’s accompanying video in September and recently described the concept of the clip in a special behind the scenes interview.
