Mariah Carey has revamped her look, reintroduced herself to both the teen and Adult Contemporary markets, thanks to her duets with Justin Bieber and Tony Bennett, and now she is restructuring her management team. In fact, the iconic songbird has reportedly hired ‘American Idol’ judge Randy Jackson to handle her career.
Jackson has worked with Carey since she began her career in 1990 and he was even a vice president of A&R at Columbia Records while she was still signed to the label during the peak of her success in the 1990s. Furthermore, Jackson also operated as Carey’s creative partner on several of her records, such as ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’, and has already been listed as a contributor on the diva’s upcoming project.
Carey was previously signed to Chris Lighty’s Violator Entertainment. However, when company merged with Primary Wave in September and she decided to switch services.

If Carey has indeed hired Jackson then it was brilliant move. Her career has been quite stagnant since she parted ways with Benny Medina in 2008 in the midst of her ‘E=MC2′ campaign and several of her promotional opportunities were mishandled.
Also, Jackson has always been an integral part of Carey’s musical direction and is very astute businessperson – he was the person made provisions for her duet with Bieber. Hence, if he could guide Carey’s professional decisions the same way that he has done with her music then she will undoubtedly be a major success once again.
