Mario plans to revive his career following the slow sales of his ‘D.N.A.’ album and the title of his next release reflects that ambition. Indeed, the R&B singer has titled the project ‘Restoration‘ and it will arrive in stores in early 2012.
‘Restoration’ will officially be released in the US on February 7th 2012. However, fans of the crooner’s ballads will be sorely disappointed as he described the LP as “not [a] typical R&B style but more like club songs.”
Preceding the launch of ‘Restoration’ is the project’s lead single, ‘The Walls’. The sex-driven record was crafted by Rico Love and features Fabolous. To date, ‘The Walls’ has peaked at #64 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Hopefully, when Mario refers to ‘Restoration’ as entailing “club songs” he actually intends to make records with more bass similar to Brandy’s new sound. Honestly, if he is aiming to craft more songs like ‘Break Up’ then this project could develop into another commercial disaster.
‘Let Me Love You’ has thus far been Mario’s biggest hit – and one of the biggest airplay hits of the last decade – so clearly it would work in his favour to make more radio-friendly ballads that would allow him to have both commercial and critic success. Really, Mario is one of the most talented male vocalists of his generation and it would be a shame for him to waste his gifts on songs intended for Jason Derulo.
