Did you know that Trey Songz has yet to achieve a platinum album in the US?
Despite releasing 4 albums since his 2005 debut, Songz’s top-selling LP was ‘Ready’, which has thus far only been certified gold by the RIAA with sales slightly surpassing 800K copies. However, Songz has scored 2 top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 – ‘Say Aah (Ft Fabolous)’ and ‘Bottoms Up (Ft. Nicki Minaj)’, which have been certified platinum and double platinum, respectively.

Since 2008 that is. No male RnB artist has sold more than him other than Usher and he relies heavily on pop to do so. Chris is after him with 750000 for FAME (very pop n techno influenced as well), and R Kelly is after him with 600000 copies.

The question was he hasn’t achieved a platinum cd since his arrival in the music industry, via usa. Not about Chris, Usher or Kelly. Trey’s last cd is already a year old, now if you want to say Breezy is chasing those numbers keep in mind F.A.M.E isn’t a year old, also he has achieve a Platinum cd.

@Ignorant, not trying to argue your point but Maxwell released an album in 2009 “BlackSummerNights” and it sold over one million copies in the US and that album was R&B.

Actually “Ready” has sold over 900k so that is elgible for platinum status. His label probably just didn’t certify it.
