Gladys Knight, William Guest, Merald Knight and Edward Patten received the honour at the 1996 ceremony alongside acts including David Bowie and Pink Floyd. Notably, the legendary grouping was inducted into the Hall of Fame by one of their biggest fans, who referred to Knight as her idol.
