Mary J. Blige’s ‘My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act 1)‘ album will debut on November 21st and the record entails a powerhouse duet that might give it the boost to the top of the Billboard 200 In fact, the Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul teamed with none other than Beyonce for ‘Love a Woman’ – a tune that the song’s writer, Sean Garrett, regards as iconic.
Of course, Blige’s battle for the #1 slot on the Billboard charts won’t be easy. Indeed, Rihanna is also scheduled to release her ‘Talk That Talk’ album next week and it is supported by her current #1 single, ‘We Found Love’.
Listen to ‘Love a Woman’ below:
This song is brilliant! The harmonies, the lyrics and the production were all well placed, and the tones of Blige and Beyonce’s voices meshed perfectly. Clearly, Pharrell was not lying when he said that Blige was on a mission to elevate Urban music back to position of prominence on the charts because ‘Love a Woman’ is an excellent example of a contemporary R&B hit!

Rihanna new tracks are auto-tuned garbage and have no musical depth yet you are saying this is garbage? Please the vocals, production, harmonies, adlibs, etc>>> Rihanna’s career. Please!

Charts don’t equal talent (i.e. Rihanna)
[...] The first name on the list is Mary J. Blige who is seeking to cement her position as R&B’s premier artist with her ‘My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act 1)‘. Included on the set are the current single, ‘Mr. Wrong (Ft. Drake)’, ‘Why (Ft. Rick Ross)’ and her powerful duet with Beyonce, ‘Love a Woman’. [...]
