Mary J. Blige’s experienced a surge of excitement when it was revealed that she had collaborated with Beyonce on her ‘My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act 1)’ album. Yet, instead of being forced to wait until November 21st to hear the tune - ‘Love a Woman’ - a snippet of the record has been released.
Interestingly, Blige stated that she had not worked on’Love a Woman’ with Beyonce in the studio. Instead, the track was sent to her with the latter’s vocals already in place.
Other songs set to appear on ”My Life II’ include ‘Need Someone’ and the latest single, ‘Mr. Wrong (Ft. Drake)’. Listen to the preview of ‘Love a Woman’ below:
It is great to hear that Blige and Beyonce constructed this as a slow R&B record instead of the forced uptempo disaster that was ‘Put It in a Love Song’, which was performed by the latter with Alicia Keys. However, we should reserve all judgement until the full song surfaces.
