Whitney Houston Confirms ‘Waiting To Exhale 2′ Plans

Whitney Houston’s ‘Sparkle’ film has yet to hit theatres but the she is already discussing plans for future movie projects. In fact, the diva has revealed that she is currently plotting to star in the sequel to her classic piece ‘Waiting to Exhale’.
Houston broke the news during an interview with ‘Access Hollywood’. She confirmed that the writer of ‘Waiting to Exhale 2′, Terry McMillan, has contacted her on several occasions to join the production and she only agreed when she was assured that the entire original main cast had agreed to participate.

“You know what, that Terry McMillan, she keeps calling me about that ‘Waiting to Exhale 2,’” Whitney, who starred in the 1995 movie, told Shaun, referring to the author whose 1992 book inspired the film.
“I guess it’s inevitable. If my three other friends, my three ladies… I think they’re all in,” she said of co-stars Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine and Lela Rochon.
“I just have to… I’m just settling down, just getting this under my belt and once I finish with this,” Whitney said of “Sparkle,” which also stars “American Idol” Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks. “I’m not going to say no.”
In “Waiting To Exhale,” Whitney played Savannah Jackson, a woman waiting for her lover to leave his wife – a character that has more to say according to the star.
“Savannah has to be, she has to come back,” Whitney added.

Houston has certainly made an excellent decision regarding her return to film roles. In addition to the obvious credits that she will receive from her production company, Houston will reposition herself in the limelight beyond the realm of music – where she has become limited because of her tragically destroyed voice – and showcase her strengths in another field.
Indeed, given Houston’s string of personal issues during the past 15 years, she has a lot of experience that she could bring to the role. Hopefully, the ‘Waiting to Exhale 2′ will debut soon!

Whitney has done so many iconic things, enuff to last a lifetime. But wait till she see what’s next.
She has made a smart decision. The only one of the 4 divas with a mainstream, successful movie career and yes she will continue to do music so trent continue not with the shade.

exactly Camron, Trent is such a hater it kills him that no matter what, Whitney STILL shines, her name STILL opens movies and STILL have #1 platinum records, stay mad. Im not going to say anything negative about mariah because its not her its her ignorant fans.

I Hope that the movie is as good as the book sequel is… it is shocking to read what has happened to them over the years, I would love to see it on the big screen with the original cast
