Katy Perry has enjoyed a phenomenal year and she decided to end 2011 on the highest note possible by appearing on ‘Saturday Night Live’. Dominating the entire episode as the guest host, the bubbly entertainer performed in a range of skits, including a hilarious twist of the romantic comedy ‘New Year’s Eve’ in which she mocked the antics of Christina Aguilera.

Among the many career accomplishments that Perry gathered in 2011 were a record-breaking 5th #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 from her ‘Teenage Dream’ album – ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)’ – and being ranked 3rd on Billboard’s list of Top Artists of 2011. Additionally, ‘Teenage Dream’ was certified double platinum in the US with sales exceeding 1.9 million copies.
