Did you know that DMX is the only artist in the history of the Billboard 200 to have his first five albums debut at #1?
DMX’s first five releases – ‘It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot’, ‘Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood’, ‘…And Then There Was X’, ‘The Great Depression’, and ‘Grand Champ’ - all entered the Billboard 200 at #1. The only artists who have come close to matching this feat were Britney Spears and Beyonce, both of whom scored four chart-toppers.
DMX’s highest-charting single on the Billboard Hot 100 to date was ‘Party Up (Up in Here)’, which peaked at #27 in 2000. Watch the video for the song below:
Wow I actually didnt know this one lol! Great Music Minute!
Alicia Keys also has #1 with her first 4 albums (Songs in A Minor, Diary of AK, Unplugged and As I Am)…
i hope Beyoncé can beat him with her next 2 albums lol
@Matheus TECHNICALLY Alicia doesn’t count because Unplugged wasn’t a studio album.
If DMX would have stayed away from drugs he could be still be one of the most successful rappers. Shame.
Woah I neva wud hav guessed that. Trent stays educating us!!
Well, X is one of the best rappers to ever do it. Not to mention all his albums are amazing. So this doesn’t surprise me at all.
No shade but errrrbody got a goddamn record of something.
I want one of those artists to set the record of having a successful career, a happy marriage and a steady and wealthy life. I’ll wait.
Trent Im glad you did this without shading him.
