Did you know that Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ was the first piano-and-vocal-only ballad to hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100?
‘Someone Like You’ was the first track of its kind to climb to the summit of the Hot 100. Additionally, when the song reached the #1 spot on the chart in September, it became the first ballad to achieve that feat in over three years – the last slow song to attain the peak position was Rihanna’s ‘Take a Bow’ in May 2008.
However, ‘Someone Like You’ also helped Adele to achieve another major feat. With over 3.09 million downloads sold to date, the tune held the #1 slot on the Hot 100 for five weeks and made her the only female artist in history to remain in the tally’s pole position for five weeks with two different songs – ‘Rolling in the Deep’ was #1 for seven weeks – in the same calendar year without the assistance of a featured act.
Ok we get it now, 21 is the shit, can we move on to other ppl now geez. Proud of her though
How can u you “we get it, move on” followed by “im proud of her” ?? If ur proud shouldnt u want her to receive recognition for doing something that was last done by the Rolling stones AND making her the only female to do so??? SMH
Anyways I didn’t know this…wow. Adele deserves ALL the credit she’s getting. She put out a SOLID album…we rarely get this these days. I guess some people who hate the fact that Adele recieves attention would much rather by a microwave pop album full of singles..Oh
Lmffaaooooooo at Rolling stones…I meant Rihanna #NoShadeIntended
@ Aye, i meant that sarcastically, i guess my failure to put lol at the end affected how my thoughts were articulated. You dont need to be going on and on about that. Even if thats how i actually felt u will still have no right to be disturbing my peace with ur unecessary talk
