Released on April 28th 2009 as the lead single from his ‘BLACKsummers’night’ album, ‘Pretty Wings’ spent 14 weeks at #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and was ranked as the third most successful tune on the chart during the entire 2000-2009 decade. In fact, the song is currently tied in second place among the longest-running #1 singles in the history of lineup alongside Deborah Cox’s ‘Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here’, Mariah Carey’s ‘We Belong Together’ and Jamie Foxx’s ‘Blame It’.

So which songs were placed higher than Maxwell’s ‘Pretty Wings’ on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Decade-End chart? Mary J. Blige’s ‘Be Without You’ was #1 – it holds the record for the longest-running #1 song on the tally with 15 weeks – and Mariah Carey’s ‘We Belong Together’ was #2.
