Did you know that Shania Twain’s ‘Come on Over’ is ranked as the best-selling album by a female artist in the history of the US?
Released in 1997, ‘Come on Over’ has thus far been certified 20x platinum in the US with SoundScan sales figures exceeding 15 million copies as of January 2011. In fact, the record is one of 8 albums that have been certified 20x platinum or greater and the only LP by a female act on the otherwise male-dominated list.
‘Come on Over’ spawned 3 top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including ‘From This Moment On’ and ‘You’re Still The One’. Of course, many people may remember the Twain for one of the album’s most notable tracks ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’, which peaked at #7 on the Hot 100 and was accompanied by a video that garnered massive airplay on MTV and Vh1.
