While her ‘We Found Love’ single continued to dominate the Billboard Hot 100 this week, Rihanna quietly achieved another victory as her ‘Talk That Talk’ album was certified gold in the US. However, the record has not actually sold 500K copies at retail outlets. Rather, the demarkation was obtained via shipments.
‘Talk That Talk’ received a gold certification from the RIAA this week and has become Rihanna’s sixth consecutive album to achieve that feat. Yet, the LP has only sold 373K copies via retailers since being released in the US on November 21st, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Still, this is a relatively regular occurrence, as previously explained in the RIAA certification process.
Rihanna previous album, ‘Loud’, has sold over 1.55 million copies in the US. The LP generated three #1 singles on the Hot 100 – ‘Only Girl (In the World)’, ‘What’s My Name?’ and ‘S&M’.
Meanwhile, Rihanna currently preparing for the release of her ‘You Da One’ music video. The tune is the second official single from ‘Talk That Talk’ and has thus far peaked at #14 on the Hot 100.

You Da One is a whack ass song. I’m sorry i don’t get why it’s #14. Why do they include shipments instead of actual sales?
