Amy Winehouse’s ‘Lioness: Hidden Treasures’ pounced onto the top spot on the UK Albums Chart last week and although it has lost it’s grip of the peak position, it still managed to maintain a place in the top three. However, ‘Lioness’ wasn’t the only record to exhibit strong momentum. Indeed, Lloyd’s ‘Dedication to My Ex (Miss That)’ also kept its stride on the charts.
‘Lioness’ slipped to #2 on the Albums Chart this week after being ousted from the top slot by Michael Buble’s ‘Christmas’ album. The latter undoubtedly benefited from the added public attention gained from his appearance on last week’s climactic episode of ‘The X Factor (UK)’. Yet, Buble would have enjoyed a surge on the lineup regardless thanks to the annual change in shoppers’ interest to Holiday-themed releases.
Of course, the winners of ‘X Factor (UK)’, Little Mix, also enjoyed an expected massive boost from the show as their debut single, ‘Cannonball’, has debuted at #1 on the Official UK Singles Chart. Lloyd, however, proved to be the true winner as his ‘Dedication’ dipped only one spot to #3 and dispelled any idea that the success of the tune was a fluke.
