Rihanna’s reign atop the UK Albums Chart was shorter than her vocal runs. In fact, after achieving a historic debut at #1 on the tally last week, the Barbadian as already been ousted from the chart’s summit.
Olly Murs’ ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’ has entered the UK Albums Chart at #1 with over 148K copies sold and denied Rihanna the opportunity to nab the top spot of the lineup for a second week with her ‘Talk That Talk’ album. Yet, Rihanna, who performed at Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball yesterday, was mot likely unbothered by the upset as she made history last week by becoming the first female artist to score two #1 albums in the UK within the same calendar year.
However, Murs didn’t only outperform Rihanna on the Albums Chart; he also outranked her on the Official Uk Singles Chart with his single ‘Dance with Me Tonight’ notched at #2 whereas Rihanna’s former #1 ‘We Found Love’ dipped to #3. Meanwhile, the contestants of ‘The X Factor (UK)’ clocked the #1 spot with ‘Wishing on a Star’.
