Last week, Mariah Carey and Jermaine Dupri shared images of their time in the studio but today they shared something even more exciting! The creative pair have released footage from their most recent session, which was held early this morning, and confirmed that they have crafted several songs for Carey’s new album.
Although they are still in the early stages of production, Durpri confirmed that he and Carey have fleshed out five tracks for the diva’s album, which is due later this year. They were joined in the studio by producer Bryan-Michael Cox who co-wrote ‘Get Your Number’, ‘We Belong Together’ and ‘Don’t Forget About Us’ from Carey’s lauded ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’ album.
Watch the footage of Carey, Dupri and Cox below:
Carey is obviously going the extra mile to ensure that this album is success. With Big Jim Wright and Randy Jackson also in the fold, she is seemingly aiming for the same spark that she had with her ‘Emancipation’ record. Hopefully, however, she doesn’t simply create a clone of that album because she needs to ensure that this new project is fresh, exciting and creative; truly representing a new stage in her career.
