VEVO and Grey Goose joined forces to orchestrate a special ‘Rising Icons’ documentary to showcase the many talents of Miguel. Describing his musical journey and the creative processes that are usually involved in his art, the singer/songwriter proved exactly how important music is to him when he almost erupted into tears on the set.

Miguel is known for being emotional and expressive in his music as well as in his daily life. For example, shortly after learning that he was omitted from the list of nominees for the 2012 Grammy Awards, the he shared his disappointment via Twitter in a notorious rant.

Regardless of that setback, Miguel’s ‘Sure Thing’ was ranked as the most successful song on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. He is currently working on the followup to his 2010 ‘All I Want Is You’ debut album.
