New Video: Emeli Sande – ‘Next To Me’

Fresh out the gate of our Burning Up feature and Emeli Sande is already becoming a staple act on The Lava Lizard. The songbird released the video for her latest single, ‘Next to Me’, just moments ago and provided her budding fanbase with a visual to coincide with her beautiful voice.
Yesterday, Sande also issued a preview of her upcoming ‘Our Version of Events’ LP. The record is expected to arrive in UK stores on February 13th, just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Sande is one of those artists who could sit on a bag of pampers while wearing a farmer’s hat and the video would still be enjoyable because the music is just that good. This simplistic clip perfectly represented the raw appeal of Sande as an artist who focuses on the material rather than relying on visuals and I found myself singing for its entire duration.
It is very exciting to think of where Sande could take her career. She definitely as the potential to succeed beyond the UK so hopefully, her US debut won’t be far away.
