Rihanna’s ‘You Da One’ didn’t match the record-breaking impact of ‘We Found Love’ so she is prepared to try again. The Barbadian has announced the next release from her ‘Talk That Talk’ album and this time she will have the assistance of her mentor Jay-Z in her mission to score her 12th #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.
‘Talk That Talk’ – the title track of the album – will be issued as Rihanna’s next single. Featuring Jay-Z, the tune was produced by StarGate, the production duo who were responsible for the 3 #1 singles – ‘Only Girl (In the World)’, ‘S&M’ and ‘What’s My Name? (Ft. Drake)’ – from Rihanna’s previous album, ‘Loud’, as well as her lone #1 song from her ‘Rated R’ LP, ‘Rude Boy’.
Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ was the longest-running #1 single of 2011. It held the peak position of the Hot 100 for 8 weeks and even outperformed Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep’, which dominated the chart for 7 weeks.
Naturally, Rihanna’s success has inflated her ego. She recently declared that she has no competition in the industry and is in a league of her own.
