It appears that 2012 will be the year of Jessie J. Indeed, after scoring three nominations for this year’s BRIT Awards and a spot on the panel of ‘The Voice (UK)’, the singer has vaulted to the top of the Official UK Singles Chart and claimed her 2nd #1 single on the tally.
‘Domino’ zoomed from #8 to #1 on the Singles Chart this week and earned Jessie J her 2nd chart-topper on the lineup following ‘Price Tag (Ft. B.o.B.)’. Thus far, Jessie J has landed 5 top 10 singles on the ranking from her ‘Who You Are’ debut album, which has been certified double platinum in the UK for shipments exceeding 600K units.
Another Pop singer who made serious moves this week was Bruno Mars whose ‘Doo-Wops & Hooligans’ album has ousted Adele’s ’21′ from the top spot in its 53rd week of availability. ‘Doo-Wops’ ended 2011 as the 3rd best-selling album of the year in the UK and has sold over 1.22 million copies in that territory to date.
