will.i.am has always been the mastermind behind the Black Eyed Peas but many people wondered if he would succeed a viable solo act. However, the electro-voiced rapper has enlisted several of music’s biggest stars for his upcoming ‘#willpower’ to help him achieve his quest of silencing his detractors.
Among the acts who will join will.i.am on ‘#willpower’, which is due later this year, are Alicia Keys, Britney Spears, Shakira and Bustra Rhymes. He revealed to Capital FM that the record will entail “uplifting” song with themes of “encouragement for those [who] need it.”
If you’re scratching your end and wondering, “what in auto-tune heaven does ‘T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever) (Ft. Jennifer Lopez & Mick jagger)’ have to do with being uplifted,” then you’re not alone. However, what’s even more confusing? will.i.am has a classical song on ‘#willpower’ that includes vocals from Nicole Scherzinger.
Read what will.i.am had to say about his collaboration with Scherzinger below:
“I made this song with Nicole Scherzinger that you would never expect. It’s classical music,” he said. “I have this girl singing like: ‘Who’s that?’ The internet is very, very powerful – LMFAO have 300 millions views on ‘Party Rock Anthem’ – so sometimes you should make things just for the net.”
He added: “This classic piece of music that I did with Nicole, it’s beautiful. That girl sings like I’ve never heard anybody sing like that in pop culture. She is thebomb.com/isthatnicole?.”

will.i.am is clearly doing his best to ensure that ‘#willpower’ will be successful. I’m not going to say that he will basically recreate the Black Eyed Peas ‘The E.N.D.’ with a 12 rehashes of ‘Boom Boom Pow’ and ‘I Gotta Feeling’. Instead, I will be positive and pray that he will be inspired to try something. Amen.
