The 2012 NAACP Image Awards ceremony was hosted this evening at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The event, which celebrated the numerous accomplishments of African-Americans in the fields of music and film, featured performances by major R&B acts such as Ne-Yo, Jill Scott and Jennifer Hudson.

However, the most moving showing was put forward by Yolanda Adams who belted a powerful rendition of ‘I Love the Lord’ in honor of the late Whitney Houston. Ironically, Adams has regularly been compared to the latter throughout her career and this dynamic performance proved why she deserved such recognition.
