Earlier this week, we shared Alexandra Burke’s cover of Fabulous magazine’s latest issue. Now, additional shots and excerpts from the accompanying interview, which included her explanation for leaving Simon Cowell’s SyCo Entertainment, with the publication have surfaced.
Burke claimed that she parted ways with SyCo because of the restrictions on her artistic freedom and momentum. She declared, “[Cowell's] so busy and I’m high-maintenance as an artist because I want everything to be better and better.”
Read what Burke had to say about her split from SyCo and see more shots from her Fabulous spread below:
“It’s been a learning curve and the whole thing with Simon Cowell was hard. He always told me he respected the fact that when he made a decision I didn’t agree with, I would call a meeting to argue my point.
“But he’s so busy and I’m high-maintenance as an artist because I want everything to be better and better. We agreed it was best for me to move. I still think he’s an incredible person. I’ve learnt a lot about business from him and I’ve always respected his honesty.
“It’s true that I’ve had to deal with a lot of stuff. I’ve had to prove myself again to a new record company. Some things didn’t turn out as I wanted them to, but I guess I just feel that in the position I’m in I don’t have a right to moan.”
