Bad Boy Records is the dark abyss that has consumed the careers of several talented artists – Total, Danity Kane, Mase and Day26 – with little hope for salvation. However, it seems as though Dawn Richard was given an escape route from impending doom when Diddy “released” her from her contract.
Speaking to Bossip about the latest developments in her career, Dawn claimed that she was amicably cut from her contract so that she could pursue a solo career. As such, she won’t be releasing her upcoming ‘GoldenHeart’ album, which has a scheduled March due date, via the label.
Dawn served as a member of Diddy-Dirty Money alongside Diddy and Kalenna. The latter recently released her ‘Chamber of Diaries’ mixtape.
Watch Dawn’s Bossip interview below:
Dawn is very talented but she was obviously being stifled as a member of Diddy-Dirty Money. ‘Last Bus to Compton‘ ‘Last Train to Paris’ was a solid record primarily because of her work so now she could finally focus on her own success, hopefully on a better label and with proper management.
Dear Dawn, happy Emancipation Day!
