‘The Best of Etta James – 20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection’ surged from #162 to #46 on the Billboard 200 shortly after her death on January 20th 2012. The record demonstrated a 149% sales increase to 8K copes and became the legendary singer’s highest-charting release after it bested the #68 peak position of her ‘At Last!’ album in 1961.
The gold-certified ‘The Best’ climbed even further up the Billboard 200 to #42 this week and accomplished a new total of 898K copies. Included in the collection of tunes are ‘Something’s Got A Hold On Me’, ‘Pushover’ and ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’.
