Did you know that Diana Ross was the first woman to headline the Super Bowl halftime show as a solo act?
Ross headlined the Super Bowl XXX halftime show in 1996 and became the first woman in the history of the event to perform without the assistance of a special guest. In fact, the icon was only second entertainer to have that honor, following Michael Jackson in 1993.
Among the songs that Ross performed at the Super Bowl were ‘Baby Love’, ‘Stop in the Name of Love’ and ‘I Will Survive’. However, her most memorable rendition was of ‘Take Me Higher’, during which she exited the stadium in a helicopter.
