Did you know that Adele recently became the sixth act in history to sweep the three major categories at the Grammy Awards?

Adele on the Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year titles at the 2012 Grammys and became the sixth artist in the history of the ceremony to achieve that feat. Her accomplishments followed previous winners Eric Clapton, Dixie Chicks, Christopher Cross, Carole King and Paul Simon.

Additionally, Adele won the Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Short Form Music Video and Best Pop Solo Performance Grammys at this year’s event for a total of six trophies. As such, she became only the second woman to win as many titles at a single show, following Beyonce in 2010.

Thus far in her career, Adele has won eight Grammys. Among those honors is the Best New Artist title, which she earned in 2009.
