Did you know that Kelly Price launched her career as a background singer for acts such as Mariah Carey?
Price performed as a background singer alongside her sister for several years before she released her platinum-certified ‘Soul of a Woman’ debut album in 1998. Among the artists with whom Price sang were Carey and The Notorious B.I.G. In fact, her voice is clearly heard on the latter’s hit tune ‘Mo Money Mo Problems’.
Of course, Price eventually gained notoriety for her own music, such as the track ‘Secret Love’, which peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in 1999. Additionally, she sang with Whitney Houston and Faith Evans on ‘Heartbreak Hotel’, which climbed to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
