A new month generally brings change and that was certainly the case with this week’s editions of the UK charts. Indeed, the top spots of the UK Albums Chart and the Official UK Singles Chart were occupied by fresh faces instead of the usual contenders.
Firstly, Lana Del Rey landed atop the Albums Chart with her new album, ‘Born to Die’. The LP sold over 117K copies – more than the other 4 albums in the top 5 combined – as the fastest selling album of the 2012 to date. Meanwhile, the title track of ‘Born to Die’ cracked the top 10 of the Singles Chart and ranked at #9.
Secondly, David Guetta’s ‘Titanium’ has claimed the top slot on the Singles Chart. The track, which features Sia, has become the French DJ’s 4th #1 single on the lineup and the 1st chart-leader from his ‘Nothing but the Beat’ album, which moved to #9 on the Albums Chart.
