Katy Perry performs 'Part of Me' at the 2012 Echo Awards.

Katy Perry journeyed all the way to Berlin to perform ‘Part of Me’ at the 2012 Echo Awards today. Surprisingly, the singer, whose last rendition of the tune on ‘Let’s Dance for Sport Relief’ was quite underwhelming, delivered an impressive showing.

The official video for ‘Part of Me’ was released yesterday. However, Perry didn’t wear any of the army gear featured in the clip. Instead, her space-themed garb would have been better suited to her previous single, ‘E.T.’.

Yes, Perry didn’t deliver a Jennifer Hudson level vocal performance here but she was in better form than her other recent showings. She still needs to work on her breath control, though, and possibly consider less dancing.
