Did you know that Heather Headley has won both a Tony Award and a Grammy Award?
In 2000, Headley earned a Tony for Best Actress in a Musical for her role in ‘Aida’. She aso won a Grammy in 2010 for Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album for her ‘Audience of One’ LP. The latter represented Headley’s first win from a total of four career nominations, which included a nod for Best New Artist in 2004.
Headley was born in Trinidad & Tobago and lived in that country until she was fifteen years of age. Not including her work on Broadway, she is probably best known for her biggest hit on the Billboard Hot 100, ‘I Wish I Wasn’t’, which peaked at #55 on the listing.
