Did you know that Bob Marley was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and was honored with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award?
Marley was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1994; almost 14 years after his death. He was later celebrated with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001 along with Tony Bennett and Sammy Davis, Jr.
Additionally, Marley and The Wailers‘ ‘Get Up, Stand Up’ was honored with the Grammy Hall of Fame Award in 1999. Interestingly, the song never charted in the US. In fact, Marley’s only Billboard Hot 100 entry was ‘Roots, Rock, Reggae’, which peaked at #51 in 1976.
