No she does not. Her voice has really thinned over the years. That 5octave bla bla is gone. I hate how she is so underrated as a songwriter though.

People always ask me why Mariah is my favorite. This is why!

Mariah’s voice has not gotten better. She resorts to backing tracks and studio help. Mariah’s voice hasn’t been the same since 97

Definitely used to. The sad thing about Mariah is her voice is all she got that made her stand out and she ruined that with all the drinking she’s been doing so loosely over the years. And it dont help that she was a smoker in her 20′s too. Sad really.

Trent didn’t mention the range she’s shown in the studio, which extends down to E2 (as far as we know).

I hate when people say ohh mariah lost her voice because she drinks. When i hear that i think of one of the greatest voices to ever bless a mic Aretha Franklin who smoke and drank during her career(not like mariah who quit smoking for her career) and she still sounded great when she was the age mariah is now. So there must be something else going on with mariah vocal chords we dont know about

Stop reading so many tabloids. Mariah never smoked in her 20s. Not only does she know how much smoking would affect her voice (b/c she smoked in her early/mid teens and stopped after realizing the impact it had on her voice) but do you really think that Tommy Motolla’s controlling ass would’ve allowed it?
We don’t know for sure why her voice changed after ’97. We can all assume this, that and the third but neither you or I know for certain. What we do know is that she has had nodules since she was a kid that become inflamed when she doesn’t rest her voice enough.

She still has that amazing range. She just doesn’t have the same robust belt in a part of her range but she has actually gotten even better in other aspects of her voice. And if you think that Mariah’s voice is the ONLY thing that makes her stand out then you are mistaken.
